Rwandan Sophie Nzayisenga may call herself the first female master of the inanga. At nine years old Nzayisenga first started performing at different concerts and was met with great resistance, based on her gender and cultural norms and thereby decided to change those views for good. Or in her own words: โPeople should know that what a man can do a woman can do.โ Nzayisengaโs performance is the closing of Origin Of The Harp in West-Africa and will be preceded by a reading by Neil van der Linden.
